I have felt this grief too and it is a bittersweet pain that never completely goes away. Your friend will never be replaced and that is the deepest sadness of grief. After all of the anger, regret and sadness I have felt losing Geoff the greatest gift came when I made a conscious choice to take from the loss the very best of everything I learned from him and honor him by living as a wiser, kinder and more loving person because of his presence in my life. Without even trying, Geoff gave me everything I needed. What gift can you give the rest of the world so that your friend’s spirit lives within you?
